Curd Rice - South Indian Recipe


Curd rice


Ingredients

Raw rice- 1 cup

Milk – 1 cup

Curd – 1 liter

Ginger – 1 tbsp chopped

Green chili- 1 chopped

Salt to taste


For tempering

Mustard seeds- 1 tsp

Bengal gram dhal- 1 tsp

Split urad dhal- 1 tsp

Curry leaves a few

Cumin seeds- ½ tsp

Asafetida powder- ¼ tsp

For garnishing

Cucumber – 1- 2 tbsp chopped

Pomegranate seeds - 2 tbsp

Coriander leaves- a few


Method

Cook the rice and keep aside. To this add the milk and mix well to soften the rice. Then add the curd and mix well. Add the ginger and chili pieces and salt and mix well.

In a sauce pan take some oil and add all the ingredients for tempering once the mustard seeds crackle pour it into the curd rice, and mix it up.

Finally garnish with the cucumber, pomegranate and coriander leaves.

Serve chilled
