Aloo Matar - Punjabi Recipe

Ingredients

Vegetable oil -  1/4 cup 
Onions, finely chopped  - 2 medium 
Ginger garlic paste  - 1 tblsp 
Bay leaf  - 1
Potatoes, peeled and chopped  - 4 large 
Frozen peas  - 1 cup 
Tomato puree  - 1/2 cup 
Garam masala - 1 1/2 tsps 
Paprika  - 1 1/2 tsps 
White sugar - 1 tsp 
Salt - 1 tsp 
Chopped cilantro  - 2 tblsps 

Method

1.Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat and stir fry  the onions, ginger garlic paste, and bay leaf till the onions become tender. 

2.Add  the potatoes and peas

3.Cook , keeping it covered until the potatoes are tender.

4. Remove the bay leaf. 

5.Stir the tomato puree, garam masala, paprika, sugar, and salt into the vegetable mixture. 

6.Continue cooking about 10 minutes. Mix in the cilantro and continue cooking about 2 minutes.
