Ingredients
25 Colacasia leaves, (washed and wiped dry)
3 cups Boiled Rice (washed and soakd in water overnight)
3 Red Chillies
marble size tamrind
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp turmeric powder
Water to grind
Method:
1. Grind soaked rice, chillies, tamarind and salt adding water to a thick fine paste and keep aside.
2. Finely chop the colacasia leaves and mix to the above paste.
3. Divide the mixture into smaller portions and place in a leaf (teak or banana) and fold in the edges as shown in the picture.
4. Cook in a Steamer (thondor) for 45 minutes or until fully cooked. Cool and cut into pieces of required size.
* Some of these leaves, if not properly chosen may cause some itchiness inside the mouth and throat even after cooked.
