Catedral de Santa Isabel - Malabo, Guinea Ecuatorial

On the west side of the Plaza de Independencia is the Catholic Cathedral, Santa Isabel.  The Cathedral is probably the best example of colonial architecture still remaining in Malabo and is arguably the most beautiful building on the entire island.  The morning sun illuminates the Cathedral facade and makes for some great photographs.  The Plaza in front of the Cathedral is busy in the evenings with children playing "futbol" around the fountain and some even swimming in the fountain.  There are usually 10-20 teenagers looking to grab some free wireless access from the Sofitel Hotel located only steps away from the Plaza.  A trip to Malabo should include a visit to the Plaza de Independencia and the Cathedral Santa Isabel!
