Hoaxes and Fallacies

Material on less understood religions are more prove to erroneous information. Sometimes these are half-truths, spread either deliberately or accidentally.

Sometimes they are outright fallacies – they are simply wrong. There's lots of reasons why a fallacy could become common knowledge. They generally reflect what listeners are expecting to hear on a subject, often because they have already been exposed to other problematic information.
