Vermicelli Rava Idli(Shavige Rava Idli) -



Vermicelli Rava Idli(Shavige Rava Idli) 

1. Roast: Dry roast 1 cup of rava and 1 cup of shavige (vermicelli) separately until they turn aromatic/golden, then let them cool. 

2. Tempering: Heat 1-2 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, chopped cashews, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté well. 

3. Mix: Combine the roasted rava, shavige, tempered spices, 1 cup of curd, 1/2 cup water (or as needed), and salt. 

4. Rest: Let the batter rest for 10-20 minutes to allow the rava to absorb the moisture. 

5. Steam: Add a pinch of baking soda or Eno for extra fluffiness (optional), mix, and immediately pour into greased idli plates. Steam for 8-10 minutes.

Carrot Rava Idli



Ingredients:

1 cup semolina/rava (preferably coarse)
1 teaspoon salt
1 or 2 finely chopped green chillies
1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
2 tablespoons chopped corriander
1/2 cup grated carrots
1/2 cup thick yogurt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon ENO fruit salt

For Seasoning : 

2 tbsp oil
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/4 teaspoon cummin seeds
2 green chillies
curry leaves

Method:

1. Mix all the ingredients except the ENO fruit salt.
2. Put water in a pressure cooker and keep on a slow fire. 
3. Apply a little oil to each of the idli container to ensure easy removal when they are done. 
4. Add ENO fruit salt to the batter, mix and immediately steam in the pressure cooker (without the whistle for 6-10 minutes — with Us Hat.

Rava Idli - South Indian

Ingredients

Rava ( semolina ) : ½ kilo
Sour curd : ¼ kilo
Cumin : ½ spoon
Ghee : 6 spoon
Salt : as needed
Coconut : ½ 
Green chilli : 5
Ginger : a small piece
Curry leaves : a little
Peppercorn   : ½ spoon

Method

Grate coconut.
Cut green chilli, ginger finely.
Heat a little ghee in a frying pan.
Add rava and fry till red.  
Cut cashew into pieces. 
Heat a little ghee in a frying pan.
Add cumin, peppercorn, cashew and fry till red.
Add ginger, curry leaves, fry and set aside.
Churn curd.
Mix coconut, green chilli, rava and fried items.
Leave it aside for 2 hours. 
Add fried rava, 2 spoon ghee and stir well.
Prepare idlis.
